The above calculation is based on a 2D model of arrow flight. The arrow's orientation is assumed to be fixed to its velocity (angle of attack is always zero degrees). The equations of motion are solved with a fourth order Runge–Kutta method. The drag coefficient is calculated using the formulas from Exterior Ballistics of Bows and Arrows by J. W. Rheingans.
