The data in the above table is based on ASME/ANSI Standard B36.10 Welded and Seamless Wrought Steel Pipe.
The friction factor is computed using pipe roughness ε=0.0018 inches from numerical solution of Colebrook-White equation.
Maximum allowable pressure is computed from Barlow's formula with a maximum allowable stress of 24500 psi.
These values should only be used as estimates with more reliable values taken from ASME/ANSI Standard B31.3" Power Piping.
